2.  How much is the registration fee?

3.  Do I have to fundraise?

Fundraising is encouraged but not required.  Proceeds support local breast cancer screening, treatment support and education programs (75% of net) and breast cancer research grants made by Susan G. Komen for the Cure® (25% of net).

6.  Can I pick up Race packets for others, besides myself?

Yes, just give volunteers the names of those you wish to pick up packets for.  Please note, however, no one can register for someone else (other than their own children) because each waiver must be signed by the registrant her/himself.

7.  If I registered for the 5K Race can I change my mind and walk, or vice versa?

Yes, you can change your mind the morning of the race and switch from Race to Walk, etc.

8.  How many members does it take to form a team?

A minimum of 10 members is required to form a team.

9.  If I register a team does everyone have to pay or is it one price for the team?

Each team member must pay a registration fee.  

10.  If I form a team can my company or organization pay the registration fees?

Yes, your organization can pay all team member fees.  Contact info@komencoastalgeorgia.org to find out how.

11.  Does a team have to walk together or can some run and some walk?

Team members do not have to walk or run together.  You can participate in whichever event you wish on Race day.  You can also change your mind and switch from Race to Walk or Walk to Race. 

12.  Can my team design our own t-shirt?

Yes!  Check out the Team Captain Information for more information.  We like to reserve the color pink for survivors so please make your t-shirts a different color.

13.  What is Team Packet Pickup?

14.  How does my company or organization become a Race sponsor?

15.  Can I bring a dog?

Yes, but we do not encourage it due to crowd size.  Your dog must be on a leash and please stay in the back of the pack so you do not get in the way of the competitive runners.

16.  Can I ride a bike or rollerblade?

Not unless you are a paramedic or Savannah Police officer!  For everyone's safety, bikes and rollerblades are not permitted.

17.  Can I bring a stroller?

Strollers are allowed; however, for safety, we ask that you stay in the back and to the sides of the Race route.  All children 0-10 must be registered.

18.  What if I am not able to walk that far?  Are there any special arrangements for survivors?

If you are a breast cancer survivor and not feeling quit up to a 1K or 5K, you are welcome to ride on the Survivor Trolley.

19.  How do I volunteer?

Click here to view volunteer opportunities.  Many shifts allow volunteers to participate in the Race as a runner/walker.

20.  How do I turn Friends for the Cure® money in?

Manual donations, checks NOT cash, can be mailed at any time to:  P. O. Box 1405, Savannah, GA  31402.

21.  Is my donation deductible?

Yes, all donations to the Susan G. Komen Savannah Race for the Cure®, where no goods or services are received, are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  Registration fees are not tax deductible.

22.  How will donations be used?

Komen's mission is to end breast cancer forever. Net proceeds from the Komen Savannah Race for the Cure are distributed as follows: 75% to local breast cancer screening, treatment support and education programs serving people in Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh Counties; 25% funds breast cancer research grants made by Susan G. 23.  Are there nearby hotels?

Yes, we encourage you to spend a night or two and enjoy all that Savannah has to offer, in addition to our wonderful Race.  Click here for nearby hotel information.
